Last month, we successfully showcased our AI DevOps autonomous agent that runs apps in the cloud to over 500 people in various European cities.

With the US, we are taking our meetups to the next level and making them interactive. In each hands-on Monk workshop, you’ll be doing familiar deployments in a new way by deploying an application and its supporting infrastructure using our web UI and AI DevOps agent. We’ll also look at how you can check the status and success of your deployment, and how to change your deployment over time.

Our meetups are open to anyone who currently architects application deployments and their dependent infrastructure (or who aspires to). This means if you build your own applications and need more efficient ways to deploy and run your infrastructure, or if you work on designing and deploying infrastructure at scale, these workshops are built for you!

Right to it: why you should join us

At Monk, we’ve taken our collective industry experience and expertise and have used them to implement our distributed cloud operating system, monkOS. We then improved on how you can manage your monkOS deployments to include a GUI and an AI DevOps autonomous agent.

These tools are what will improve your ability to build and manage modern cloud deployments. Our GUI also allows you to share your architecture designs to reduce knowledge-transfer barriers. In our AI DevOps workshops, you will be using our tools to learn how to take advantage of these next steps forward for your own benefit.

Workshop structure

Each workshop features a concise technical deep-dive by MonkOS’s co-founders Nina Wieczorek and Marcin Gasperowicz, explaining the GUI, architecture, and underpinnings.

After the short talk, a brief Q&A is followed by a heavily hands-on lab-style workshop where you can use the product and battle-test it yourself. TAs are available to assist with questions and prevent people from getting stuck. We encourage you to invite team members to attend the event.

Engineers will step through how to deploy a sample app, view associated deployment metrics, and learn to view state and troubleshoot failed deployments. You’ll also learn how to scale your expertise and earn extra money with monkOS.

Each workshop will also have a guest speaker. We are looking at local speakers for each meetup and encourage emerging speakers to apply! If you are interested in being a TA or a speaker, please fill out our registration form.

Our first stop in the United States will be the wonderfully weird city of Portland, OR. We’ll be there both as attendees of Monitorama (we hope to see you there!) and by running our workshop after the event:

Our guest speaker is the wonderful Hazel Weakly, who will be presenting about one of her best known blog posts: The Mother of All Outages. So if you’re looking for some post event food and some incident management catharsis, join us!

Stay tuned

We’re currently planning our general US Tour for later this year. If you have a city to request, or have a space we can use to host our workshop, please reach out to us at community@monk.io.

We look forward to speaking with you! 🐬
